Fatal Accident Compensation Claims - TAC

TAC Fatal Accident Compensation - What you need to know

  • Regardless of fault, fatal accident compensation in the form of weekly payments and a lump sum benefit are available to a surviving partner and/or children if they were some way dependent on the deceased for financial support.
  • The TAC will pay for counselling for family members with a doctor or registered psychologist, as well as the reasonable costs associated with funeral, burial and any ambulance, hospital, medical or like expense.
  • If the deceased died as a result of somebody’s negligence, you are entitled to sue and recover damages if you were financially dependent upon the deceased. A Claim should only be made if the damages are likely to exceed the value of any weekly payments and/or lump sum benefit.

Galbally & O’Bryan can help you claim lump sum compensation.
